Hybrid and Smart Cars

I often discuss cars on this website, however, I have never had the chance to discuss in what parts of the world cars are the most popular. We might treat our Car as granted, but there are many places in the world where cars are not that popular yet. China and many parts of Africa are places where cars are the least popular in the world. Of course, in North America, Europe, and Australia cars are very popular and quite affordable.
In the Western nations there is a lot of discussion about Hybrid cars. These type of cars have an internal combustion engine, but they also have an electric motor. Such types of cars are environmentally friendly, as they use a lot less fuel. They are an excellent choice for those who care about the environment and do not plan on very long trips. More and more people switch to hybrid cars, and some say that the future belongs to them.
It is also interesting that for many years car owners wanted to have a very large car; however, these days Smart Car is gaining no popularity. Microcars became increasingly popular during the last decade, especially in larger cities. That is because it is a lot easier to find a parking space for such a small car. While there were some safety concerns raised, it seems that such cars are generally quite safe. Smart cars are amongst the most fuel-efficient gasoline-engined cars in the world. In these regards, they are similar to hybrid cars.
