Advertisers seem to never give up. They constantly bombard us with ads everywhere we go. Fortunately, there are at least a few ways to block unwanted pop ups on the Internet. Choose one or more from the following options:
If you use Internet Explorer, the update to Windows XP called Service Pack 2 contains an ad blocker.
If you use Mozilla Firefox, there are blocking options available in this browser too. There are also addons which will block any unwanted pop ups.
Internet Explorer users can download an appropriate software that will block pop ups. You can look for it on Google, MSN, and Yahoo.
If you would like to invest some money in protecting you from ads, you can always purchase an ad blocker. There are a lot of them on the market.
Some antivirus and antispyware software has a feature to block pop ups. You may need to activate it manually.
Check with your Internet provider. Some of them like, for example, AOL can add a pop up blocker as a feature in your monthly subscription.
Overall, there are many ways to block pop-ups, so it seems that there is no need to spend money for a pop-up blocker. My favorite way to block pop ups is to simply use a browser that has such a feature.
